The exhibition is hosted by the Italian Agricultural Machinery Exhibition Organizing Committee, and is the best agricultural and garden machinery exhibition in Southeast Asia. It started in 2009, once every two years, and has been successfully held five times.

It was a major World Expo registered by the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE), in the tradition international fairs and expositions, the first since 2005. The theme of the exposition was “Better City – Better Life” and signifies new status in the 21st century cities.
It had the largest number of countries participating and was the most expensive Expo in the history of the world’s fairs. The Shanghai World Expo was also the largest World’s Fair site ever at 5.28 square km. By the end of the expo, over 73 million people had visited – a record attendance – and 246 countries and international organizations had participated. On 16 October 2010, the expo set a single-day record of over 1.03 million visitors.

OLYMPICS
A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 28 sports and 302 events. The 2008 Olympics were watched by 3.5 billion people worldwide and featured the longest distance for an Olympic Torch relay.
The 2008 Games also set numerous world and Olympics records, and were also the most expensive Summer Olympics of all time and second most expensive overall after the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi.
